How to configure LibreOffice to work on live CD/DVD?

Hello,

I can't get LibreOffice Portable to work from a CD. I spent six hours yesterday searching and making copies of CDs none of them work so far. I almost had it to work, but it crashes every time after a minute or less due to unexpected error. Also, after LibreOffice crashes, it tried to save a backup of the open the file to the CD, which results in an endless loop of the error message.

I need this software to use for opening, editing, and printing documents at the college library that I make at home. I really like LibreOffice but our college does not support it.

Is there a reason it can't be running off a USB flash drive instead of a CD?

Actually that computers destroyed my flash drives and I don't use flash drives anymore. That's why I would like to use live CD.
