Does it matter the location of the hosting server.
For example, if I have a wensite in english, but the hosting server is in Spain, and I want target users from UK, USA, Canada; is it better in search engines to use a server from these countries?
Also, the search engines check the server location, or it matters in Page Rank?

I don't think it matters, but I would set the web server time to some standard time - perhaps EST (New York) or Greenwich Mean Time (GMT - London)

One thing that does affect server location is the content. A popular location for gaming sites is the Kahnawake Reserve Indian reservation in Quebec, Canada. The Canadian government is very reluctant to shut down websites hosted on the reserve if any complaints come in about the website.

I think for the best performance, you can one location for all targeted visitor. Its very recommended for SEO. But you can customize for another location if possible.
