I tried to use Ipage web hosting. The first week my programs were overwrittern by theirs. Five complaints later they turn off the code rewriting option that should not have been the default setting. I put my own visitors form in the site. They threw a fit saying I should pay to have some add-happy service take my visitors away.

Then updates would not apply. My code would not even be in the control panel, would be missing. They went in my CP thrice daily previewing everything which wrote garbage into my visitors form. Eight times I asked them to stop, they told me hackers had control over thier server! I have Linux, I know they are far more secure than that. They also tried to sell me services to stop the harrassment that they were responsible for.

I asked for a refund of remaining time. They disconnected me, gave no refund. I still have eight months paid web hosting left that they don't intend on giving to me.

Hello, I'm sorry to hear you've had a bad experience. I would like to look into this for you if you could provide your domain or username. If you would like to cancel our billing team can definitely help accommodate that. We'd definitely like to keep your business if we can, please let me know if you'd like me to check into this.

Kind regards,

Thank you. I will have deal with this later, as family things, etc. have come up.

It seems that self-teaching self-programmers clash with the bots and packaged type purchased web-sites, the "control from top down" politics of unix. Unfortunate we independent thinkers don't have a chance in the new unix environment.

Fortunately I have found a more appropriate place to post the info that was my website.

I hope all is well with your family.

I'm sorry to hear that you'll be moving elsewhere. If you have a little time and would like me to look into this feel free to PM me your username or domain. The issue with changing and missing items is not normal and as I have not encountered it before, I definitely would be interested in investigating.

Kind regards,

Melissa
