Designed it on a large resolution screen did ya? And yikes leave my browser alone. It's mine not yours. Don't take away my browser features.

splash image takes too long to load (that keyboard something). Another thing is the fullscreen popup...why? It looks stupid on my screen res (1280 x 1024) and I hate fullscreen windows, and so does about 99% of other ppl I know. I never got any further as I closed the window straight away

Yeah, sorry for that...
Before, I had it so it opens in the same page, and let's all the features. I had an alert box suggesting full size, but that's all. But the guy that is hosting this changed it and put it like it is now....
That's the only change he made. He put it at that temporary place. Once we have straightened things out, he will put in at the second link I posted. I'll try to convince him to leave it the way I had done it.

That's the kind of input I thought I would have ;)
That's good, it means I'm not that bad, lol

But could you go on even if you don't like it, tell me what you think of the rest?
I will try to make him change it, because I don't like it either...

Get the images in the menu the right size, don;t resize with html, it does nothing but make us 56kers wait ages to see nothing worthwhile.

Takes far too long to load up, I'm talking minutes. Change the font and colours of the site, looks so dull and boring. Apart from that, nothing to really comment on as there's hardly any design or much to see.

Ugh, I guess you don't like it then.
Well thanks for the comments anyways.
I won't change the colors because the graphics artist designed the panflets with the same color theme, and she printed 10 000 copies so it's too late to change...
If I change the size of the images, they just wont fit. I started doing this when I didn't know much, but it took me so long (waiting for content) that I learned a whole bunsh of stuff in the meantime... So at first I start with absolute positionning. Then I thought it should be fluid (hense all the %). I should have just changed the whole thing I guess.... I'm sorry it's not fast with 56k, but I didn't think there would be any trouble with images as most sites have them...
Anyone else wanna comment on it?

using 800x600 res on IE.

navigation, you have it in at least 3 places for different stuff. that is 2 places too many. i like my options all in one area so i know where i am clicking to get around.

click on the first image.
stuff goes scrolling about the page. almost reminds me of animated gifs (ick). after that there is a main scroll and two smaller scroll areas that are overlapping each other a lot.

the effect itself looks like a neat different idea, but it just didn't work on my settings.

The pop up didn't work on me...NA NA na

When I went to the next page and clicked o the link for the next concert, I got a blank page with a scrollbar, horizontal one to boot at the bottom of the page like an iframe or something but that is it.

The guy changed the popup thing, so that wont happen anymore. He has changed the very first page though, which isn't bad the way he did it, but that mean I'll go check everything else in case there is something else he changed which I don't agree with.... Probably not.

That overlaping scroll thingny was made on purpose, but one of them is supposed to stop at some point whereas the other continues (until they don't overlap anymore). Is that not what it did?

MotherNatrsSon: What browser are you using?
I don't really understanding the problem your having... Anyone else have a problem of this kind?

I kind of like having a non-tradition way of presenting the info (not all in the same place). Partly because it makes the page have more "air" (Well in my res anyways, I didn't think of testing in other resolutions :()

I hope I haven't overlooked any of your comments, but I'm doing a whole bunch of this at the same time, tell me if I have ignored something you said...

More colour, don't use Times New Roman without good reason and also that image in the left column took about 15 seconds to load for my 576kbs ADSL modem. (In other words, people will die of old age before it's displayed on dial-ups)

PS: Don't worry, my first was worse!

I see old Netscape 4 Grey for the background, and black Times New Roman text. Is it supposed to look like this? I've got my Firebird preferences set to not allow a script to resize my window without my explicit permission.

About 80% of the time when I click on English or Francais, it doesn't load anything. It starts to, but then doesn't. Lemme see if I can get it to change... it almost went that time... lemme try once more... got it! It went to the grey page.

Apparently since my window isn't full-screen, I'm not allowed to click the HOME in the lower left-hand corner. Darn. And what's with the iframe? It's completely unnecessary...

Congratulations on doing your first professional website. Keep at it, and work hard... but don't quit your day job just yet.

I am on a MAC using Netscape 7.

Here is what i do:

Click on english on the first page
On the next page that loads I click on the image for the next upcoming concert, October 25 is what the tooltip says.
After clicking on that, I get a menu on the left with what looks like an iframe possibly with a horizontal scroll ar and absolutely nothing else on the page above the scroll bar(see attached screen shot)This page http://www.ucmtl.ca/jazz123/English/index.html

Also on the pages, the link for "home" in the bottom left is cut in half so all I see it the top of each of the letters. "Concert Dates" covers up one of the dates.

ugh. MNS, you're screen shot made me realise I had a serious problem here, lol. I will fix what I can here people, but since the concerts start very soon, we will have to put it up on the web officially very very soon.

I guess my next site will be better:(

Thanks for all the input though
