If it's xhtml 1.1 then it should not have a marquee tag. Maybe you should be using a different Doctype.

Thx fpr your answer, but the script "Cross Browser marquee" from dynamicdrive doesnt use the marquee, for ie its div and for ns layer.

And the problem is NOT, that the scrolling isnt working, the problem is that i can not format the text in the scroller with stylesheets......

var marqueecontent='<nobr><span class="someClass">Thank you for visiting <a href="http://www.dynamicdrive.com">Dynamic Drive.</a> If you find this script useful, please consider linking to us by <a href="../link.htm">click here.</a> Enjoy your stay!</span></nobr>'

THX glenngv,

i tried to put the style EVERYWHERE, also direkt in the variable marqueecontent ...... it doesent work. I have defined a <body>-style with text-formating, and the Ticker-Text gets only this information, not the styles i wrote direkt into the Text or the nesting tags :-(

can you show us how you modified it? only the related parts

I modified nothing in the script, i tried only to put css-style to the text. example:
var marqueecontent='<nobr><span class="com_ticker">Thank you for visiting <a href="http://www.dynamicdrive.com" class="com_ticker">Dynamic Drive.</a> If you find this script useful, please consider linking to us by <a href="../link.htm" class="com_ticker">click here.</a> Enjoy your stay!</span></nobr>'

as i said, i tried it with "class", "style" direkt, and in every place it can go (the 3 existing divīs)...

iīm getting crazy.....:(

Works for me...

<head>
<style type="text/css">
.com_ticker {font:normal 12px Verdana; color:red}
</style>
</head>

maybe your style definition is wrong.

Thx a lot, your style works!

this style doesnīt work:
.com_ticker {
font-size: 8pt;
font-weight: bold;
font-color: #ff0000;
}

and this one works:
.com_ticker {
font: normal 12px Verdana;
color: #ff0000;
}

very strange, normaly its only another way to define styles...

buggy browser stuff

THX a lot, again :thumbsup:

your style is correct except for this one:

font-color: #ff0000;

it should only be color: #ff0000;
