I have problems with some polish characters when I export a database to xls. It doesn't work with "ąść" but it is all right with others polish characters żł. Where can I have a mistake

I think it's reasonable to assume that your characters are in some form of Unicode, such as UTF-8. As of now PhP does not have support for Unicode. You can store the characters in the database but to display them you need some way of converting them to font bitmaps. XML and likely XHTML, including .svg, support Unicode, an excellent font to use would be Gentium, which is completely free for any use, has a large list of characters, and several nice looking styles. You could use @font_face with it. You see, I've had this same row to hoe.
