JavaScript Address Book

Hi all first of all this is my first post.. sorry to make it a "newbie can you help" but i have been scratching my head on this one for a bit now..

Im trying to rewrite it slightly so that when you press edit.. it edits in situe (insted of editing on the inputs below) im trying to get it to edit the table (using inpuits) on the correct data store item.. if that make sense?

can anyone help/point me in right direction?

Not really sure what you're trying to do, but the form being displayed can be generated from anywhere. The 'edit' link just allows you access to the data table entry. You can create a separte function that loads the form into a popup window as long as you send it the item id and tell it to edit or delete the item.

I really don't understand how saving information to the DOM saves an entire active database anyway. Maybe someone can answer that for me...

Its a bit confusing.. the edit button at the moment.. it returns on the inputs below.. and you can save back (edit) the datastore...

What im trying to do is you press edit.. it returns "in situe" so the correct line on the created table and presents input boxes to edit "In table"
