View Full Version : pages always refreshing after changing from .html to .php - are they not caching?

I changed all extensions on my site from .html to .php so I could use some small php scripts and includes. Now, when you go back to a page you've been to, the page refreshes. If the page has been cached, then why is it refreshing? This wasn't an issue when they were .html.
Any clues? If you need to see, the site, let me know and I'm PM/IM/Email you the url.

Is it a shoutbox maybe?
Those refresh automatically with meta refresh...

No. At this point, I'm only using includes.
Edit: I just found another site that seems to have the same dilemma... http://www.infotree.com
Click through the pages and then backtrack. Notice how the page has to redraw/refresh every time? Is there not a way to alleviate this?

It's not refreshing for me. You should check your browser settings.

Maybe re-rendering is the word I'm looking for?
What browser settings would/could affect this?

For Internet Explorer
Tools/Internet Options/Temporary Internet Files/Settings
Unless you either have a meta no cache tag or are sending a no cache header in your PHP coding then you should check your browser settings. Also try it in other browsers and see if you have the same problem.

Ugh. I had my temp file limit at 1mb. I moved it up a bit and that seemed to do the trick. Thanks
