Help with cartoon face

I'm no graphics artist and I've been drawing some cartoon characters/faces in photoshop, but this one face is really bugging me coz I can't get the face to look like it's laughing with it's mouth to the side. It looks really deformed, so anyone have any tips or advice on what to do to make it look better?

I would say to extend the mouth to the left a little and add "dimples" on the left as well.

I would say that his eyes half closed makes him look sleepy, or sneaky. You should have them either split closed like he's laughing so hard he's crying, or bug those eyes out like it's the funniest thing he's ever seen.

The mouth may just need to be more of a upward curve on the top. Top row of teeth, tongue sticking out... Take a look at the pick.

I know, visualizing these things are still odd for me, and I'm stuck doing some of this stuff all day. Faces are always difficult.
