Change color for entire sidebar

Hi,

I would like to change the color of the entire sidebar to black and add a left border.

I can't figure this out with my theme :(

Yah, you have to change the image above the wrapper and below it, change the background color of the wrapper to black, then add in a bunch of css to add margin/padding to the left content, to give it space, change its color, etc.

Basically, its not a simple issue.

yeah sounds what i thought too.. any help with code would be much appreciated
