View Full Version : An invisionboard...complicated script alteration...can you help?

my board, http://www.Volconvo.com is simple, and it's meant to be that way...I strive for function.

I was wondering how hard it would be to rid my page of those stupid post icons-the one's that indicate if new topics are in a particular forum, and which topics within that forum are new.

Wouldn't it be cool if instead of a little icon appearing next to the forum that has new topics, and the post within the forum that is new, if instead the actual color of the link was different?

I am trying to see how I could make new topics (new topics, new polls, new hot topics) and updated forums have links that are the color #FF0000, and "no-new" one's to be #000000

I can give any script lines you need!

For that kind of technical support you should use the technical support area for that particular product.

CeeN, at least for me your request is a little vague - because I don't see any icons at all before new posts/threads. Perhaps that's because I'm not registered to the forum.

Anyway, if you know the name of the icon file you can search the forum code for the place where it's been used. Somewhere near that place the links to the posts/threads must be written/generated as well, and there you have to plug in your CSS class name. That's of course just speculation because I don't know the architecture of the invision board, but in phpBB it's roughly the case.

Hope that helps. If you know the specific code part I mentioned above you might try to change it and post the code if trouble arises. Spookster is right in sofar as the boards at invisionboard would be the right place to ask - though I can envision that the developers get swamped with feature requests.

Nice layout BTW... the reduced use of colours. Very easy on the eyes.
