comment tag issues

what is the difference between <!-- comment --> and /* comment */ ?
<!-- comment --> is used in HTML documents to comment one or more lines from it.

If you need to comment some lines in a CSS file or inside <style></style> tag, you should use /* comment */. It can also be used in some other languages like C, PHP, javascript etc.
