Software to burn a DVD (Mac or Windows)

First off I'm not sure if that's even legal so if not just disregard this question, however if it's not, I'm looking for some software to burn my DVD's onto my PC so i can put em on my hard drive. Anyone know of any?

There is no need of a software to copy the contents from CD to Hard Drive. But to copy from Hard disc to CD, you can use Nero CD Burner.

What's on the DVDs? Video or data?

It's video, i had a look at the DVD files and there was an AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folder so im not sure what id do with those if i just copied them odd.

I am a little confused as till date I have copied many CDs and DVDs on my PC but never came across the situation where I would need a software. But obviously to copy the documents, data either audio or video in a CD from the PC, I have been using nero to burn them.
