I'd like to be able to change the file format of an mp3 so I can copy it to a cd and play it in my car.
I'm new to this so I'm sure there's a simple solution, but since I don't know it, I have to ask.
If you can help or suggest a program, please do.
Thanks very much in advance for your help :)
If I'm in the wrong forum, sorry, please point me in the right direction.

It is more of a technical issue, yes. All you need is a CD Writer that will allow you to burn audio CD's, Nero is an example of one that will allow it.

Going from CD to MP3, something like CD Rider (I believe that is a free app) will do it for you.

Moving to pc issues.

I downloaded (paid $9.95) for a plugin to Windows Media Player:

(Look for the MP3 Creation Plug-ins Section). I use the MP3 power encoder. It is a great plugin and works great.

... those of you unwilling to shell out $9.95 to support struggling local software houses in Redmond™©® will be pleased to know that putting stuff like "free mp3 encoder" into Google turns up hits by the packet-load.

if you use winamp it will convert .mp3s to .wav files (the ones needed for CDs) and its all free. Also, I believe if you get a CD burner and if it comes with Nero 6.x it will be capeable of doing the conversions for you...
