Saving large files

Hi there. I am trying to save a large file about 5 mb to a diskette that holds only 1.4 mb. I don't have a burner on my computer. Is that a way to zip or compact the file so that I can save it only a diskette? If anyone can think of a better way, please let me know. Thanks.

Well it is unlikely that you will be able to compact it that much however you can put it on multiple disks using file splitting software. Just go to one of the big software repositories like tucows.com and search for filesplitting software.

I believe zip and rar formats both allow splitting files into multiple disk-sized files.

Indeed. Winzip 8 (and heigher) do that.
