Debugging: XDebug

I followed this (http://wiki.netbeans.org/HowToConfigureXDebug#How_to_build_Xdebug_.28useful_for_php5.3.29) guide as closely as I could to configure XDebug, but it still doesn't work. Some of it didn't work. I had to adjust portions of it to work properly. It still doesn't run. Is there a more recent guide I could use, or is there something that is commonly missed that you could point out?

Are you sure you posted to the right thread? I never saw anything like that in the instructions I looked at.
