Try using text-align:right; on the menu as well

Your page is applying a different css to IE7 and under via this conditional comment:

<!--[if lte IE 7]>
<LINK REL=StyleSheet HREF="/templates/system/css/ie.css" TYPE="text/css" MEDIA=screen />
<![endif]-->

which contains:

#menu
{width:500px;
color:#525961;
margin-right:53px;
height:20px;
float:right;
border-bottom-style:solid;
border-bottom-width:1px;
border-bottom-color:#e2e2e2;
font-family:Arial;
font-size:13pt;
padding-bottom:0px;
text-align:right ;
padding-right:0;}

as opposed to 5% in your normal css.

Additonally, IE7 is applying a margin-right of 30pt to ul.menu - which I think is the browser default. Have a try adding:

ul.menu{margin:0} to your css.

The thing is, that the #menu is sitting in place exactly where i want it. its list items that are pushed left for some reason. setting the margin to (0) moved it in the right direction, but didnt put it where i want it.
it should go right on the beginning of the grey line. (which is the #menu div border-bottom line).

any other ideas?

Thanks for your time!!!

What?

The list items are pushed left in IE7 because the margin-right on #menu in IE7 from ie.css is 53px not 5% - make that change and it gets a bit better.

Then you need to apply margin:0 to ul.menu, not #menu to remove the 30pt margin-right applied to this in IE7.

If you make those changes then the menu does align with the grey line.

Tried that change (margin:5% on the menu and adding the ul.menu (margin:0), but still, its not aligned.

Have a try adding

.menu li{margin:0}

as well.
