the example ref i showed you doesn't require java ! Plus i specifically want it to be implemented in php .

You can use PHP to upload the file on the server and add it to a conversion queue. However, actually invoking ffmpeg is a command line call. While you could theoretically do this from PHP, it would take forever for a user to see a response unless you have serious - SERIOUS - server power.

I've done something like this in the past. There's a good amount of work to get this set up fluidly. If you're interested in a quote, PM me.
