View Full Version : Is this a good hosting solution?
Hi.. I ran into someone on another forum who offers web hosting. I think it's a good deal and might sign up for a year, but take a look and let me know what you all think...

Hmmm, it seems a bit expensive... and it doesn't look very professional. I'm sure there are better deals out there. In fact, some of the members of CodingForums offer hosting.
You may want to check out this recent thread (http://www.codingforums.com/showthread.php?threadid=24814), and have a little search for others... it's a topic that appears quite often :)

I looks like a one man/one machine service. Doesn't look professional and i wouldn't trust it (but i'm maybe to suspicious).
I think it's an allright offer, as long as it runs... But it's probably not the cheapest one around and it doesn't look that professional.
Also doesn't state anything about uptime, transferspeed, support etc. I'd try to get an evaluation-account for a month or so.
If you need another host, check out Kryceks sign end ask for his hosting packages
<edit> posts crossed. I see you're to modest to recommend yourself, Krycek :D

With the site having no design to it, I wouldn't go with them. If they can't put some money into their site, the odds are that they don't put any money into the servers too. Aswell as the link krycek posted, you should also check http://www.webhostingtalk.com
I met him on Audioforums.com and he's very respected over there as a computer guru and audio engineer; however, his main thing is artistcollaboration.com where musicians and engineers/producer types can collaborate together. He recently just gave me a free 100meg ftp space for joining his forums.
His website is actually http://www.artistcollaboration.com/index.php which is pretty well done. He recently contacted me and said that him and his partners are now offering web hosting. I just thought I'd ask around before signing up. So there's hosting out there cheaper than $50 a year?
thanks again

I don't like to blow my own trumpet... if I'm any good then others will do that for me, plus there are people such as Nightfire who offer services and I don't think it would be right to flaunt myself when there are others around equally deserving :)
Thanks for the mention though :D
And @ lost: yup there are cheaper packages, but price is not everything, just like with most things in life :)
