PHP and PayPal !!

Hello guys...
I am a part time web designer and small time PhP developer(not HiFi) by side. I recently got a request from one of my clients that he needs a site in which he is offering some service( some spiritual advice kind of stuff based upon your date of birth ) and he need to be able to take payment( rarely might someone use the service and even if using it then not that big amount:rolleyes:) from his customers through debit card( or credit card) through the site online. I heard about PayPal then. Is PayPal charging some money for registering ? Or is there any initial amount or any amount i have to pay monthly.?? They confused me with all the different plans and stuff. And how can i put the money to that guys accout? Does it go directly? I Googled and got fully confused!!:confused: Please help with this basic:o so that i can start the Php part.:)

Integrating paypal with php isn't as easy as you think especially if you haven't ever heard of paypal before. Your client might want to hire a professional php developer.

Anyways, it is free to join, your client would need a premier or business account (they have to verify bank info). They charge a small fee for any payments, it is usually like 2%, it is on their site somewhere. They don't charge you monthly. Again the hardest part of all this is getting it setup and deciding if you are going to use IPN or PDT. Good luck.

Is Premier , Business and Student account very different? I made a personal account. Can the transactions be done on that account as its only gonna be very least amount and very rarely in a month(maybe twice or thrice).:)??

Sure you can use your PayPal account.

PayPal charges a 3% per transaction + handling. Example, if someone pays
me $100, I would actually receive $96.40 or something like that.

The money stays in PayPal until you manually transfer to your bank, in which
case, that can take 3 days to process.

You also need to be verified if you haven't done that yet.

Now to the PHP part ... you could just create a pay now button using the PayPal
online tools. Then you just paste their code into your web page. No PHP needed.
