I have this very good Sony Vaio right now, but I've been tempted for quite some time to switch to MAC and now that I have enough money for it, I would like to ask for opinions here and there.
I currently have this (http://store.sony.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&partNumber=VGNFW480J/T#specifications) product, only with a larger HDD, and I would like to buy a MacBook Pro with 13" screen, 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7 Processor, 4GB RAM and 750 GB HDD.
What I am mainly concerned about is the following two things:
1. the size of the screen - switching from a quite big 16.4" to a 13" - how will this affect my daily work and the overall experience?
2. the RAM - moving from 6GB DDR2 to 4GB DDR3 - I am not very good in hardware and I don't know the difference between DDR2 and DDR3, and I haven't had a MAC before either, so I can tell how much RAM it uses. Would 4GB be enough for what the current configuration can hold up to?
I am pretty excited about the i7 processor and general MAC details which are never to be found on a laptop, even if the Sony that I have is quite high-end right now and looks really good. I am also excited about the battery life.
How is it to switch from Windows to Apple's OS? Is it worth doing it, does it take a long time to get used to?
I use my computer mainly for the Adobe Suite (some video production as well - and I will work with video a lot in the following months) and games like Football Manager that don't need powerful configurations. Movies and music - sure - but I don't expect them to be an issue on a MAC.
I hope you guys can help me, thanks!
