Need help with finding the best type of tools for C#

I need references to programs and software etc. for C#

I currently use Microsoft Visuals 2010 C# edition. But i feel there may be something out there that is better.

Also... does anybody know what software they used in the development of the game "Minecraft" because thats the stuff I'm interested in learning.

Minecraft is in Java and the program used to code it is Eclipse (http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/)
