image gallery question

I know I posted this in the Javascript section, and if this is not right, I am sorry, please let me know so I can post it in the right area.

I am looking to create an image gallery on my website.

i am decent at coding, but need some help.
I am looking for a code to where I can have a gallery to every picture inside the folder. say I have 100 pictures in a folder named "pics123" on my server. Is there a way to code a gallery to where every picture in the folder will appear in the gallery without putting every image in the coding?

Are the names of the image files in the pics123 directory in any sequence, like pic1.jpg ... pic100.jpg?
Do you have a link to the directory or is this local to your computer only?

I have all the pictures on my computer, but i uploaded them to my server in a file called pics123 (thats what we will call it)

most of the images are in a row - but not all. it may go from img0100, img0101, img0102, and then to img 0105.

so they might not be consecutive.
