Which language should be used?

Hey everyone,
I just need some help in deciding which programming language I should use. I know the basics of actionscript and javascript. If there is another language that would be better please let me know

I want to create a simple game of hangman but I only need the game to have one word for the user to figure out and once that has been accomplished it will lead into a website.

Any ideas on what language would be the best to use? I'm a little stuck on which would work the best.

It depends on how flashy you want the game to be, and how much time you want to put into it. If you're looking for something pretty simple, you could easily accomplish it with HTML and Javascript (see http://barracudaserver.com/WP/CSP/hangmanHtmlCode.html for an example of the code). If you're looking for something more visually stimulating, Flash might be a better way to go, assuming you have access to the program.

I wouldn't recommend Flash, mostly because web development is moving away from Flash. I'd stick to HTML and Javascript for this game. This is also something that would be easy enough to build with Ruby, Python or Java, if you're feeling a bit more adventurous!

Ok thanks for the replies, I'm going to try with javascript and if that fails, I'll use flash :)
