View Full Version : Explorer doesnt show my menu bar correctly

Im a graphic designer who is helping out a family member on her bar website. Im not too good in HTML and CSS. I dont know why my menu bar i created through CSS isn't showing properly on Explorer and is showing fine on other browsers.

Another small issue is that the "Booking Inquiries:..." section shows up in one place on safari and another place on firefox/chrome.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Hello vizualbyte,
I'm pretty sure the validator would find this (see the links about validation in my signature line) -

ul#nav-menu {
width: 600px; margin: 0px ; padding 0;
list-style: none;

If adding the missing : doesn't do the trick, check your math on that ul's width and make sure your 5 buttons actually fit inside of 600px.

Hey Excavator,
I managed to change the width of the nav menu to 620px and that did the trick! My menu size is exactly 600 pixels. Thanks so much for pointing that out!

I just wish i can figure out why my "Booking Inquiries:" shows up in different places on different browsers =(

It's the padding 0; error that does it to you.
There is some default padding on a ul that makes your menu wider than 600px. Some browsers add the missing : and some don't.

That should be padding: 0;

Check my first post again.
