View Full Version : Voting system one vote each person each day

I am making a toplist, to practise with MySQL and PHP. I've already managed to make a index, and add new "groups" to it.

But the problem I have now is, how do I make a vote system(since the list will be based on votes), which everyone(including guests). Can vote once in 24 hours, this will probably based on IP-address, which is more secure then cookies. But I know it isn't 100% secure, but that doesn't mind.

I've a table whith colums:

id, groupname, short_description, description, banner, votes.

I guess this isn't really in use for the vote system. But could someone explain me or help me with it or give a push in the right direction.

I just made a system, so you can look. See icons above image:

1. Only members
2. green stripe marks current (not avg, more complicated) vote
3. clicking changes (possibly he/she made mistake)vote for current user, So, only one vote/user
4. TODO show current user vote.

Well I mean more something everytime someone votes the number increases by one, so first vote means 1, second 2 etc. It should increase by one each time someone votes. Since the list is based on votes, most votes on top, less lower on page or another page.
