I own a downloaded gaming server that has to rely on a computer to keep it running (it's used for console games). If the computer is off, the server disconnects. Is there some kind of software that I can use to run it without relying on the computer (only used to change settings), like using the internet to continuously keep the server going? If not, then what computer/programming languages do I need to learn? I am mainly an HTML and CSS coder. I greatly would appreciate other suggestions or codes. And I can't afford a paid/rented server.

The server is run on Windows XP and 7, both of which I have. It is basically a program executable file in a folder containing other extension files.

a server is a server. It requires a device to keep it running - on your computer, on a virtual machine, on a dedicated device at a paid hosting service to run the software. thos are your main options
