It's a simple tiled background with a repeating pattern.

This might help you:

If you're looking for other tutorials, search for "repeating background illustrator" and you'll find a ton of them.

Thank you - both the link and the google search were helpful :)

However, What are they doing to get multiple backgrounds as you scroll down the page at the kaleidoscope site?

Thanks in advance - James

You can use either CSS 3 for multiple backgrounds, or set separate div containers with their own width/height and background image(s). Always more than one way to do something.

Might look into using Xara (http://www.xara.com/us/products/designer/). Artist gallery (http://www.xara.com/us/gallery/).

There are some background image makers:

Major Payne thanks as the search for "div containers with their own background" led me to a tutorial I think has the answers, just need to understand it :)

you are using your social media profiles to promote your personal brand or business, chances are that premade themes and watermarked templates just won’t cut it. You need a custom design to make your profile stand apart from the rest and convey important information about who you are. There are a few tricks that may save you some time and frustration when creating a custom profile background. While none of these can replace the eye of a great graphic designer.
1.Choose an Image Editor
2.Maximum File Size: 800 KB
3.MySpace
