I'm looking for a good free e-mail service. What do you recommend?
You can place your vote in the poll, but I'd also like to hear the reasons for your choice. The poll contains some of the more popular ones, but please feel free to recommend whichever you think is the best. Thanks!

frankly gmail you get 7.6 gigabytes of mail storage and frankly their spam detection is second to none...
also unlike Hotmail and yahoo you have both imap and pop freely available which means if you wish you can also use desktop clients such as Thunderbird outlook express. Which frankly I do have a use for since I do use encrypted email and message signing with certain people

I voted gmail for it has a large amount of storage you can also use this to create an account to blogger easily. This way you don't have to sign up again to use blogger. Where this web base tool is more useful when you want to start to write a blog.

Instead of you I will choose Gmail. You should read this (https://mail.google.com/mail/help/about.html).

I've been with yahoo over 10 years now. I've had some problems but in general their service has been more reliable than using my own domain etc.
Now they have disposable email addresses too. Gmail has a similar system where you can use + in the pre@part of the address but anyone can send anything to your firstname.lastname@example.org and its down to you to then blacklist it. Sure they have a great antispam system but becoming too reliant on that has its own weaknesses.
With yahoos disposable email addresses you can use them and then delete them when you start getting spam. Once deleted no more mail gets through on that address. The spam filter isn't as good but its effective enough.
Not used hotmail for years. That was quite literally spam central.

I am using gmail and blumail.org email account which will give you same function like gmail. Both are the best service to use and provide best storage than others. One of the best thing about gmail is google docs which is best to edit your documents online and maintain them.

I've got both a gmail and a yahoo account. Both are fine, but I use a number of google services such as google calendar with I LOVE! So gmail wins.
