HTML Timeline

So is there a way you could create a timeline using HTML. So a horizontal line with dates on it and over the dates events?

A timeline shouldn't be too difficult, see an example that shows how to set up a box that scrolls on the x axis here (http://nopeople.com/CSS%20tips/scrollers/index.html).
Maybe that will get you started?
