To help in your "quest" to become a "professional" photoshop designer i myself have used these videos to help me become better in photoshop, also you could learn Adobe Illustrator, alot of graphic design jobs these days require GOOD Illustrator skills!

Aswell you can go on youtube and look up "EdzJohnson" he does really good Photoshop/HTML/CSS tutorials

You could also do a correspondence course on graphic design. That way, once you through and pass, you will have a certificate or diploma to show for your efforts. This would be great to add on to your resume.
