View Full Version : linksys Wireless PCI card driver help... plz!
Im new with RedHat 9.0 and im trying to set up a wireless network... but according to linux the stuff I just spent $300 on is not compatible with linux... I downloaded the drivers (or at least the packages) and ran them... is that it? Or is there more to it? Thanx a bunch for any help! :thumbsup:

linux doesn't always have "exact" drivers, sometimes the drivers are grouped and such, like the tulip packages. Anyway, Im sure there is a way to have the wireless card work with linux, you just need the right "driver" for it to work and to configure it. You might try opening a command prompt and type "setup" and see about configuring your network info.

FYI to see if it is working properly, type "ifconfig -a" in your command prompt and look at the line specifying "eth0"
tahnx but no thanx :( I just decided to switch over to win xp instead and put linux on one of the other computers upstairs that use wires... Thanx anyways tho :D It will help next time. I had the right drivers but just didnt know if I had it installed right.
