I need help

Hi, I am new to programming. Extremely new. I would like to make a program
that is closely similar to the program on this page:

I would also like to make a beat machine online that allows users
to assign a sound to a button, and then make that sound play
everytime they press a keyboard key.

I want to know what I would need to know to write programs like this.

Install Firefox if you don't have it and get Firebug, JSView, and start using them. Firebug is an incredible tool to learn how to program javascript with.
