A mud I play can add things too it without shutting down the mud and recompiling it and the users don't even notice that it happened. Do you have any idea how he does this since he uses C.

probably since C uses Object files and not the code to do stuff, so he could recompile, all that would happen is he has just created a new object file...he might even be using a DB to store info so that when you look around or whatever muds are good for you wouldn't know cause the compilation has nothing to do with the DB...but Im not big on muds or how they work, so I could be wrong...
