i am toying with some php on a site im working on:

http://www.planetunreal.com/domain/index5.php

page loads fine 1st time but the php dont work - then i press f5 a couple of times to refresh it and i then get a view like source code! help!

im new to php (use lotus notes here at work for our databases and its my 1st home project using a dbase)

any ideas? im sure php is enabled as i can log into the site and use the myphpadmin thats set up on there

any ideas? am i doing something totally n00bish?

methinks your server isn't parsing php -

just got a file download here with mozilla.

seeing as you are running IIS/5.0 on win2000 there is quite a likelihood that it doesn't support PHP. Maybe ask gamespy to move you onto one of their linux boxes.

the only other alternative might well be *yikes* asp *yikes*

Looks like a server configuration problem. Somehow the PHP file does not get parsed after the first visit (IE), and I also got the download dialog in Mozilla. It was prompting me to download a file of application/octet-stream, which is surely wrong.
Ask your host to fix this.

i thought i was on their linux servers tho as they sent me mysql details and stuff... and i have logged into the myphp admin screen .. have sent email to em tho!

The page loaded up for me the first time, but it gave me a 404 error, have you tired a phpinfo() like i suggested over at the pit?

i havent checked pit - been boozing all weekend

i spoke to PU tho and it seems they have html on one server and php on another (how lame) looks like i need to setup 2 ftp accounts for that site :rolleyes:

babelfish sometimes it isn't lame to do what they have done as it can improve processing time for php and html pages.

what a pain in the backside tho! it means all my arrays are now screwed to link link pages etc as some would be on different domains :( all images would need to have a big fat long url rather than ../ - so im sticking everything on their unix server
