Thought you all could use a good laugh, so -- I am a noob setting off to create a fairly complex web site, with only some experience in JAVA and VB.

EDIT: design is not an issue, primary concern is use of the development components...

At this point, I am attempting to locate one comprehensive guide to creating a website that covers absolutely everything (or as close to it as possible) and is also up to date. I was cruising the aisles of a bookstore today in search of this seemingly elusive guide and ran across books like Poor Richard's Web Site, Web Design in a Nutshell, and Learning Web Design, but although these seemed to be the general concept that I was searching for, they appeared to be either deficient or out of date.

Does anyone know where I might locate the holy grail of web development? If there is nothing that is all inclusive, but maybe good to use for a base, are there good supplements in the form info on the web?

www.w3schools.com

They have a wide array of topics and they are up to date. One of the best general web development sites out there.
