Hello All,

I am stuck with some basic HTML coding where I have a page which somebody else created with a wrong format .. the content was supposed to be displayed in a columnar form but it is getting displayed and coming in rows instead ..

Can someone please look into the code pasted below and help me solve this issue .. Frankly, I am very new to HTML and I haven't taken any training yet .. but I have to make these changes .. Any guidance or help will be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance!
Regards,
Godiyal.

There are two columns and one text has the category name and the otner one has the number of points against that category..\

You can please go through the actual page by clicking at this link -

Looks like you need just a simple tabular format, something like the following. However, placing it in context will mean that the whole page coding will need to be adjusted according to the .css stylesheet of the site:

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN"
"http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd">
<html>

<head>
<title>2 columns</title>

<style type="text/css">

table {border: 1px solid #000; }
td { border: 1px solid #000; padding: 10px; width: 200px; vertical-align: top; }

</style>

</head>

<body>

<div>

<table>
<tr>
<td>&lowast; Item number one</td><td>Number of points for no.1</td></tr>
<tr>
<td>&lowast; Item number two</td><td>Number of points for no.2. The text will start on the same line</td></tr>
<tr>
<td>&lowast; Item number three</td><td>Number of points for no.3. The text is aligned</td></tr>

</div>
</body>
</html>

Can you perhaps show us exactly what you're wanting to change? I'm a bit confused on your intitial question.

Which part is "displaying in rows" instead of columnar data?

How SHOULD it look according to your desired outcome?

It will better if you will share mockup of layout, how you want it.
