I want to use css nth-of-type,like follows:

<tr>
<th>Item</th>
<th>Price</th>
<th>Quantity</th>
<th>Total</th>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Coffee mug</td>
<td>$10.00</td>
<td>5</td>
<td>$50.00</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Polo shirt</td>
<td>$20.00</td>
<td>5</td>
<td>$100.00</td>
</tr>

css file

tr:nth-of-type(even){
background-color:#F3F3F3;
}
tr:nth-of-type(odd){
background-color:#ddd;
}

I will use IE8,Firefox,Opera to visit above page,I know IE8 can't support nth-of-type,but Firefox and Opera support it.I want to know how to modify above code to make IE8,Firefox and Opera all work well?

Thanks
