i try so many things but can't able to increase the height to 100%;.

100% relative to what.

100% of a child element will be relative to its parent.

if its parent is 1000px, 100% is a 1000px. if a parent is 2px, 100% is 2px. try setting the parent to a height. if your trying to get equal height columns, then your going to have to go with something called faux columns http://www.alistapart.com/articles/fauxcolumns/
