No real content, just looking at design ideas. :)

You really shouldn't make it so I can't view it in Mozilla. So your fading colors on the links don't work, so what? Also how could someone that is on say Linux, use IE anyways?

I'd personally loose the splash screen, they are a waste of time.

You did not include a document type on your pages.

With a XHTML 1.0 Transitional doctype you have 51 coding errors (http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Farctic.ithium.net%2F&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=XHTML+1.0+Transitional) just on your splash screen.

The design looks good. Good job.

Sorry if I was a bit harsh.

Nice background you have, but it does look very similar to all the other layouts I've seen of yours :) Glad it ain't a chromeless window too lol

I hate IE, and simply refuse to open it to view a site.

I actually don't see why it is like that, as I simply went to index2.html, and well everything worked. It does look good, but would be more suited to be centered on the page.

Also, it is generally best to order your menu items in order of importance, whereas yours seem to be pretty much random.

Nevertheless, I do like it, and the background is indeed very scenic.

I used te index2.html "way" in. I likethe background image. I want something similar for my site. The rest of it I do not particularly care for. Too many litle windows with scrollbars. The qindows on the right with the "up" and "down" autoscrollers worked. I am on a Mac using Netscape 7 and it all appeared to work for me. When I clicked on the "tracker" link, I got an error page, no such account.

Quite the variety of banners to chose from to link to that site. Imho, there are a couple that have a very different feel to them than the site does. The first one seems rather "dark" compared to the site and the third also does not have the same feel to it.

Well, visually it's good, the novelty of the filters and background are quite nice, although perfectly capable of spanning more than one browser, you choose not, your choice.

The 'info' box is intresting, although perhaps could be resized and/or repositioned to fill in the gap in the page, it looks lonely right there.

The code is a bit messy, did you have something against the body element? I wonder why you wont let me highlight text either, perhaps a control freak? :D

Also the back-forward history buttons etc., I have those built in my browser, although I can't completely blame you for that as I did that back in the day as well. :p

If I had to be blatantly honest, I would say the site has some n00bish things to it, however the look of the site is right on point, the background and filter combo work great together, and you pull it off well, and if you redesign, definatly encompass the same look and feel to it. It has some definate accessability issues to work with, but with a personal website I am not all that picky.

It is some pretty good work tho. without a doubt
