View Full Version : Javascript rewrite.

I've run into trouble on a project which is mainly AJAX powered. The site is not allowed any page refreshes, or flash but must use javascript charts and graphical displays. Until now i've been handling the Javascript myself but its not my strong point and its stalled the project to a snails pace. I normally only code PHP however the project owner started changing the requirements after the agreement had been made and I've been forced to try and fathom out this javascript thing myself.

1) Project Details: (be as specific as possible):
The site is for website tracking - an analytic website similar to google.

The site basically comprises of one page which uses ajax for everything from registering, signing in, viewing the latest hits etc.

The problem:
I've been trying to use highcharts and a gauge from bindows.net. Unfortunately I'm unable to get these to work when they are embedded in html which comes through a ajax reply and unable to have the page call any javascript functions that are also within that reply code. This is a large problem because the charts must either be embedded into the main page and then displayed with data coming back via ajax OR it must all come through the ajax request.

Unfortunately this has stalled my PHP coding on the backend of the site. I make no excuses for this, I'm not a javascript coder and for my efforts the project has stalled along with any hope of being paid :(.

2) Payment method/ details (Paypal, check? Timeline?): Unknown - to be agreed by project owner. The project owner has requested me to seek the help of a javascript professional and is happy to pay for their assistance. I can put you in touch directly via this forum if you require but I'll need to you first take a look at the code and decide if you can 100% get it to work.

Thank you.

I have created many sites that use AJAX to update data on the front-end. I believe you have my contact info. I can do this for you. I also have a lot of experience with php as well.
