View Full Version : dl class css not applying to every dt dd option in list?

i have the following code:

<dl class="details">
<?php while(shopp('product','specs')): ?>
<dt><?php shopp('product','spec','name'); ?>:</dt><dd><?php shopp('product','spec','content'); ?></dd> </dl>
<?php endwhile; ?>

but for some reason the dl class "details" is only applying to the first dt and dd generated by the code. I have a list of about 6 items and they are all being generated correctly by the code, but the cs class is not applying, as seen in this image:

http://www.sterlingshadows.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/Screen-shot-2011-06-30-at-11.31.08-AM.png

I want them all to look the same as the top line. But when I use Firebug to hover over the subsequent elements they don't appear to be governed by the css?

How can I fix this?

Hm I can see now it is the
#shopp dl dt
code that should be applying,

not the css class "details"

How do I make it apply?

<dl class="details">
<dt>Material:</dt>
<dd>Sterling Silver</dd>
</dl>

<dt>Hallmark:</dt>
<dd>925</dd>
<dt>Top Width:</dt>
<dd>27mm</dd>
<dt>Weight:</dt>
<dd>6.7grams</dd>
Any clues? (If not, check http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.sterlingshadows.com.au%2Fshop%2Fmirrored-boulder-ring%2F)

The code you have pasted is generated by the code in my top post. Does this mean this is not a CSS problem but possibly an HTML or PHP problem? Clearly something is closing the <dl> tag before it is due to be closed.

if that is generated, then yes your problem is in how it is written... what is happening is the </dl> tag is closing the <dl class="details"> tag and thus no CSS... also throwing the errors
