I have Windows XP on Hewlett Packard. The only thing that I have attached at this time to my computer is Keyboard, Mouse Monitor, and Speakers. I have a PowerHouse 250 for backup supply.
I am getting this message.
Power Surge on Hub Port. A USB device has exceeded its power limits of its hub port.
I click the message for assistant and I get a box with a Directory.

-USB Root Hub- 2 ports
1 us scroll mouse
-HB USB Keyboard/hub component device 3 ports
HB US Keyboard/ Hub composite device
........... ? Unknown USB device
............Unknown USB device
The one in red seems to be the one that is causing all the problems and I can't figure out what it is. I get the message at least 4 times a day. and it tells me to disconnect the device and hit reset.

Ok, what USB tools do you have plugged in? anything beyond the keyboard and mouse? You could always put converters to convert the USB stuff to PS2 and then uninstall the USB hub driver so that it can reinstall....

Well, if there are USB ports on your keyboard and from your list it looks as if that is the case, do you have anything plugged into those ports?

I had a scanner and printer hooked up but had taken them off when I started getting the Power Surges. So it looks like I have to uninstall and reinstall mouse and keyboard then.. Thank you for the quick responses.
