does anyone know how to determine the type of a table that has been created previously? "describe [tablename]" doesn't seem to tell you whether it's MyISAM, or InnoDB, or what.

figured it out. SHOW TABLE STATUS; gives detailed information about tables. Reference here (http://www.mysql.com/doc/en/SHOW_TABLE_STATUS.html) if anyone's interested.
