Video Encoders

My question regards both .mov and realplayer files. I was wondering, first, if any of you know how to compress a giant resolution mov file to a lower resolution mov file. There's really no point watching a video that's alreayd bigger than the screen already, not to mention the size of the file! eek. :( I know it's possible because I had a program that did it before but it was shareware. :(

My second question would be if any of you know how to convert a realplayer file to an mpeg of avi file.

try the following software

Cleaner EZ 4 or Cleaner EZ 5 : it allows you to convert video files and compress them to various modem requirements and resolutions, Cleaner EZ 5
can create 3 files in one operation.
They have various versions a home vesion too.
(cleaner comes bundled with Premier, incase you do the editing yourself and have Premier just look in the Premier folder)

( some are freeware and produce good quality, specially their .avi to .mpeg encoder produces much better res for making VCDs).

just wanted to add a word of caution , donot upload the Cleaner folder that it creates as it is rename it otherwise its easy for people to guess where your vidoe files could be,

I already have TMPG and it can't work with RealPlayer files. It supports Quicktime files but it can't convert them to Quicktime. =(

As for Media Cleaner EZ, is it shareware because I can't seem to find the URL to download it. It also mentioned that it is incorporated in Premiere's Export Feature. If you have Premiere, can you tell me where it is? =)

Cleaner EZ is a plug-in incorporated in Adobe Premier as well as Apple's FCP I am told.

If you or a friend has Premier just look in the plug-ins folder it should be there as an installer/setup file.
