Work location to work online?

Just a follow up to another question I have online on these forums.

If one were to pursue an online business. Of providing programming services and other computer services on online base.

Is it possible to entirely do the business as a home base deal. Just work as entire entity online.

As I do no want to open up a business or a building etc.

Like is it possible to get clients from online sources only?

and use communication online if possible?

Or do i have to actually open my doors and talk to people face to face in person? if so, would i have to provide a working office for that aspect?

I think having that kind of approach is possible for small businesses.

If I found myself having to do freelance web development as my primary source of income, I would quite literally walk into every locally owned business within my cute little town and try to sell them a website. Business card websites are easy to make and you can "hook" them in for more work down the road, assuming you impress the hell out of them with your professional demeanor. This means wearing a tie, clean shaven, big smile, etc. And, most importantly, have an idea for their website that will bring them more business.

Thank god I don't have to do that.

Well, Bill Gates and Steve Jobs started their business from home. Thousands of Ebay sellers sell their stuff from home. Heck, I design and code websites at my home office. There are online marketplaces for everything nowadays. You offer something and someone else comes by an buys it. That’s how it works, online as offline.

Thats right, you can find clients online at different marketplaces and work without leaving your home.
