Request change to thread view template

After replying to a thread, we are taken to our new message at the bottom of the current thread. If we want to then navigate around the rest of the forum we have to use the forum jump links, or scroll up to the top of the page and use the main nav links.

I perfer to use the main nav links, but scrolling up to the top is always anoying. I would like to request that the main nav links be included at the bottom of threads as well.

If admin cannot make the required template changes, I can give the exact code that is needed, if that would work.

I've noticed this problem on other forums too, it is a bit annoying, particularly on long pages.

you could add some nifty javascript so you could float a div at the bottom of the browser window and toggle it on and off.

you could do this from a book mark or some code could be added to the forum.

Perhaps just a "Jump to Top" link might work better. Duplicating the breadcrumb links at the bottom of each page might make things appear cluttered...

That would work... :)

Here are instructions on how to add the links to the bottom of thread view pages.

Find this template:
Templates > Show thread templates > Showthread

Then find the text "<!-- /first unread and next/prev -->" just past half way down.

Put this code after it: <!-- breadcrumb, nav links -->
<table cellpadding="2" cellspacing="0" border="0" width="100%" align="center">
<tr>
<td>$navbar</td>
</tr>
</table>
<!-- /breadcrumb, nav links -->

And there you have it!

Thanks Dylan Leblanc for the template info- saved me a couple minutes of having to dig around.

I've just added a "Jump to top" link at the bottom of thread. Hope this helps.

I agree with the font issue, it stands out way to much imo...
