Placing an item on the left and one on the right, but on same line

I have my facebook like buttons on the left side of the page after an article, and then on the same line, but on the other side of the page, I have the facebook and twitter icons.

Currently, I have a boat load of " " spacing the facebook and twitter icons to the other side of the page after the like button.

Is there a more professional way to send a couple of items to the other side of a page, yet keep them on the same line as an item on the left?

Yes, you may use float:right; or even some absolute positions, depending upon the requirement.
