i've looked everywhere for a footer code similiar to Deviantart to no avail.

ive even reverted to ripping the footer right from DA. but i can not seem to get it right.

could somone please point me to a tutorial for a footer like theirs, or maybe even rip it for me? i love the collapsible sections that save via cookies wether its collapsed or not.

note: i will not use this footer the same way DA does. i will customize it to my likings and my needs.

DA and the ripper, will be given credits.

thanks for any help.

It is completely inappropriate to request "ripping" of anything. The term is frowned upon. A better way of asking is " Trying to get a similar effect of this footer"

You will get more feedback / help that way.

Also, never use an exclamation point in your post title. It is against the forum guidelines. Just some advice to help.

... "or maybe even rip it for me?" :rolleyes:

Try starting with a simple jQuery slide/toggle like this -
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
<title>Untitled Document</title>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-latest.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function(){
$(".button").click(function(){
$("#panel").slideToggle("slow");
$(this).toggleClass("active"); return false;
});
});
</script>
<style type="text/css">
html, body {
margin: 0;
background: #FC6;
}
#container {
width: 800px;
margin: 30px auto;
padding: 25px 0 400px;
background: #999;
overflow: auto;
}
#panel {
display: none;
text-align: center;
color: #999;
background: #754c24;
}
#panel p {padding: 5px 0;}
p.slide {
background: #d03d00;
border-top: solid 2px #422410;
text-align: center;
}
.button {
line-height: 33px;
display: block;
color: #fff;
text-decoration: none;
}
</style>
</head>
<body>
<div id="container">
<div id="panel">
<p>

</p>
<!--end panel--></div>
<p class="slide"><a href="#" class="button">slide me</a></p>
<!--end container--></div>
</body>
</html>

That is very customizable, you can make it look just like the ones in the deviantart footer. There are also a lot of other examples availble, a little time with google will turn up plenty.
