I want to have this effeect where you can click on a link which will bring up the relevent change on the page without reload the whole page.

Look at this demo http://themehybrid.com/demo/visionary/

Look on the right top side where it says Latest, bookmarks, tags, album

The box below changes without any click (i prefer a click) but more importantly, that section changes, not he whole page.

How can I get that neat code to make something similar?

Sure? I've seen this one other non-wp sites too.

It's a little like a drop down menu, you click a menu and the drop down instead of the whole page reloading and then displaying the menu once refreshed. But instead of incorperating it into a menu, I'd like it in that form in a box.

Yes, I saw it on a wordpress theme I was working with.

Here's a similar one I found on dynamicdrive (http://dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex17/tabcontent.htm).

There may be others there as well. Look around.

Thanks that's just what I need.

What are they called do they use AJAX?

I can use it alone, it doesn't have to be a WP plugin, but that would help.

It can be done with ajax or jquery either one. Didnt really look into the ones from dynamci drive, but I think they were jquery maybe?

Would you think its hard work to get the navigation links along the top and put them along the left side?

Why not work up a page and play around with it. Then when you have specific questions, everyone here is more than willing to help.
